Absent from the conferences earlier this summer, Ubisoft has decided to go it alone with an event of its own. Maybe you were ahead of the ZEvent 2022 and in that case missed the amount of information that was exchanged that evening. Luckily, we’re here to round up the biggest announcements from Ubisoft Forward.

Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla, Mirage, Red… A packed showcase

Let’s start at the end. In fact, Ubisoft Forward ended tonight with a special showcase dedicated to a license that celebrates its 15th anniversary this year: Assassin’s Creed. And the least we can say is that Ubisoft’s legendary franchise has yet to finish speaking in the months and even years to come. When Assassin’s Creed Valhalla offers one last free expansion, all expectations will be centered primarily on Assassin’s Creed Mirage.

Intended as a return to basics, this opus will take us off the beaten track to Baghdad to embody Basim (seen in Valhalla). From wanderer to member of the Brotherhood of the Hidden, we will follow his journey through a more linear adventure than the last Assassin’s Creed, centered around three pillars: the stealthParkour and assassinations. There is no gameplay on the horizon during this Assassin’s Creed Showcase, but plenty of details you can find our special article. You’ll even discover some other details provided by Stéphane Boudon, Creative Director of the game (Ubisoft Bordeaux). Note thatAssassin’s Creed Mirage will be available sometime in 2023 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series.

But that’s not all. Ubisoft even outlined the future of the license more broadly. On the program we find a fruitful partnership with Netflix, an open-world mobile game, but above all two new titles that will be based on the famous Assassin’s Creed Infinity. the future hub dedicated to the franchise. He will greet first Assassin’s Codename Red, a game set in the era of feudal Japan (a period particularly awaited by players) that immerses us in the skin of a shinobi.

With Assassin’s Creed Witch, The license will then offer us a very different and darker game that should have us siding with the witches from the start. No exit window at the moment. You’ll just have to settle for short teasers before learning more about these two projects.

Skull and Bones, Mario + The Rabbids Sparks of Hope… Rumors were true

Assassin’s Creed aside, we knew Ubisoft would tell us a little more about two games coming this year: Skull and Bones and Mario + The Lapins Cretins Sparks of Hope. And it was the second that showed up first. We were entitled to a little more gameplay, of course, but most importantly, a better vision of the game’s future. The title is scheduled for release on October 20th and is meant to last over time. It will indeed offer an Season Pass with currently no less than three DLCs planned. And the last one will welcome a distinguished guest since then Rayman becomes a playable character thanks to him.

As for Skull and Bones, we also enjoyed some new gameplay. The latter enabled us to learn more about the pirates’ hideout, This location is specific to each player allowing to start quests or upgrade their boat. But what to remember from this moment dedicated to the game of piracy is above all this very good news: The title will be crossplay. PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series and Xbox One players can therefore set out together to sail the waves. And for that, see you on November 8th.

Just Dance, Netflix, Trackmania… Fewer surprises

The Ubisoft Forward lasted about an hour and a half. As you can imagine, with a conference this long, we were also entitled to make some surprising announcements, although some were expected. This applies in particular to Just Dance Edition 2023, the next installment of the license. The program includes, of course, but mainly new songs a new multiplayer mode to connect players from all over the world. Note that this opus is scheduled for November 22nd on Nintendo Switch, PS5 and Xbox Series (later on Google Stadia). We also had news of Trackmania coming to consoles (PS5, PS4, Xbox Series and Xbox One) in early 2023.

The free-to-play Tom Clancy’s The Division: Heartland also used this evening to show itself in pictures. Enough to excite fans of the license who can discover the small town of Silver Creek for free. No release date, but note that you can already sign up for the trial periods if you feel like it. It will also be possible to have access to a closed beta from autumn Resurgence, this time a new The Division title for mobile devices.

And mobile games will continue to exist on the Ubisoft side for months and years to come. If we mentioned Assassin’s Creed codename Jade above, you know that Rainbow Six Siege will soon offer a mobile version. Again no release date but a closed beta in the fall. And then it’s important to talk about it major partnership with Netflix that will bring to life three mobile games exclusively for the platform (an Assassin’s Creed game, Might Quest 2, and Unknown Soldiers 2), but also series, including a live-action action set in the AC Universe.

The Ubisoft Forward has also reserved an entire service area for us with the Ubisoft+, which apparently wants to move up into the big leagues. Large catalog, games available on the first day and free month, Ubisoft gives everything to compete with Xbox Game Pass and PlayStation Plus. Note that during the pre-show, Ubisoft presented two independent games that should also be included in the catalog when they release, namely Second Stone and Two Falls.
