Assassin's Creed Valhalla should once again get a very extensive game world. Ubisoft revealed this in an interview with gameinformer.com.
The main places you will visit during your Viking adventure are already known. However, Ubisoft has not yet given any specific information as to whether the card will be the same size as its giant predecessor, Odyseey.
You start in Norway
Norway is the starting point of your trip. From here, protagonist Eivor starts very early in the game in England in the 9th century, as creative director Ashraf Ismail revealed. Norway is said to be a beautiful but rugged country that doesn't have enough room for Eivor's people.
The players should feel the beauty of nature on the one hand and their hostility to life on the other. You can, according to Ismail, during the game return to Norway at any time, there should be "enough to see and do there".
Four kingdoms & three capitals
The English part of the game is said to be quite large. According to the interview, you will mainly be traveling in four kingdoms in England:
- Wessex
- Northumbria
- East Anglia
- Mercia
There are three capitals in these, namely London, Winchester and Jórvík (now York). Ismail also promises "tons" of smaller towns and settlements. A little vaguely, he said:
"We have other surprises that I won't reveal regarding the world and the map."
Whether we have the eponymous in the course of the game To see Valhalla? According to Nordic mythology, the souls of warriors who died in battle end there and it lies in Odin's castle in Asgard.
But that remains pure speculation for the time being – maybe Ismail's surprise statement also refers to something completely different: There will definitely be a return to the animus story and Layla from the predecessors, said the creative director.

Better quality than quantity? Our sister site GamePro explains why a huge game world may not be the best idea for the new Assassin's Creed.
By the way, as in Odyssey, you can decide for yourself whether your figure should be male or female. Compared to the predecessor, the gender of Eivor should not have any playful effects. Plus readers get more insight into the future of the series in our large preview of Valhalla.
