The cancellation of the E3 2020 is making waves in the gaming industry, because even if the fair stumbled recently, it was still of immense importance. Ubisoft would now like to honor this in another way.

For years, Ubisoft has been one of the biggest supporters of the E3 in Los Angeles, because while other heavyweights like Sony recently stayed away from the fair or – like EA – held their own competitive event – Ubisoft always held a big show with new announcements. In view of the cancellation of E3 2020 this must now fail, but like Microsoft, Ubisoft is also trying to (digital) replace.
According to the will of the company, interested players should not have to do without the planned announcements. In a statement published on Twitter, the ESA's decision was respected, but it was also emphasized that it was possible to explore options for a digital event. The planned news should then be announced on this.

The E3 2020 would have been of particular interest with regard to Ubisoft, after all, the developer and publisher postponed all new titles after the flop of Ghost Recon Breakpoint to check their alignment and adjust them if necessary. This is also why five new AAA games are to be published in the beginning of the 2020/2021 financial year, including the postponed Gods & Monsters, Rainbow Six: Quarantine and Watch_Dogs: Legion.

Since two of the company's five "big franchises" are said to be among the five games, a new Assassin's Creed – about which there were already numerous rumors – could also have been scheduled for an E3 announcement. We will keep you up to date on further developments.
