Ubisoft is going through a restructuring stage where the concepts about some of its franchises will be raised again and above all it will seek to differentiate the sagas between them. One of the pieces that will reach the new editorial team is the former creative director of the latest installments of Splinter Cell. Maxime Beland spent more than 20 years in the company and was the creative director at Rainbow Six: Vegas, Assassin's Creed, Splinter Cell: Conviction and Splinter Cell: Blacklist. In the latter he also combined the work with the position of co-founder of Ubisoft Toronto.
In Ubisoft Toronto, Beland oversaw the development of other games such as Far Cry 5 and Far Cry Primal, as well as the part of the Shangri-La in Far Cry 4, after that stage he left the studio. As they point from videogameschronicle, Beland has returned to Ubisoft and will act like new vice president of the editorial team, helping guide several games throughout the company.
This fact makes the rumors grow even more about a new installment of Splinter Cell, something that many players have been waiting for for some time. Ubisoft has resurrected licenses of Tom Clancy as Rainbow Six and Ghost Recon, in addition to creating The Division, but fans still miss one of the sagas that was the image of the French brand for many years, Splinter Cell.
Who knows if this 2020 holds us the long-awaited announcement of a new Splinter Cell
