Ubisoft has announced that it will skip E3 this year and hold its own presentation.

The company revealed today that it will host a Ubisoft Forward livestream in Los Angeles on June 12. More information on the showcase is expected at a later date.

Ubisoft originally planned to attend E3, but told VGC it has decided to “go in a different direction.”

Ubisoft Forward’s last presentation took place in September 2022, during which it announced that Far Cry 2 and Splinter Cell author Clint Hawking is leading development on Assassin’s Creed: Code Hex.

It also announced Assassin’s Creed Code Red, which will bring the series to Japan, and revealed that Assassin’s Creed Mirage, starring Basim Ibn Ishaq, will arrive sometime in 2023.

It also showcases Skull and Bones gameplay and provides news on The Division, The Crew 2, Mario + Rabbit, Spark of Hope, Rainbow Six Mobile, Just Dance 2023 and others.

E3 2023 kicks off its digital week on Sunday, June 11 with a host of online showcases, including the PC Gaming Showcase, Future Games Showcase, Guerilla Collective, a dedicated Starfield Direct, the Xbox Games Showcase, and Black Voices in Gaming.

E3 Industry Days will be held June 13-15. These days are reserved exclusively for registered contributors to video games, news, and content creators. The E3 Days of Gamers will be held on June 15-16 and will be open to public, industry and media participants.

This will be the first in-person E3 event since COVID ruined everyone’s fun, and then some.
