It seems to draw inspiration from clues like Netflix and Amazon, Ubisoft It has been clarified that it will classify all first party titles as Ubisoft original from now on.
After gamers noticed the brand of the recently released independent free game The Division: Heartlands, Ubisoft confirmed that all games developed by its in-house studio will be marked as Ubisoft Originals.
“The reference to “Ubisoft original” is added to all of our Ubisoft games made in-house by talented developers,” a Ubisoft spokesperson told Eurogamer in a statement.
Brands are similar to the ones you see in digital streaming services such as Netflix and Amazon Prime, and they both like to add the “original” suffix to the content produced by their studios, or to broadcast exclusively on their platforms.
Ubisoft’s wording suggests that the company may soon expand its terms of reference and then release games developed by studios other than its own. We know that EA has an Orig inals plan for indie games… Will Ubisoft consider a similar move?
