Ubisoft Everyone’s expectations have been confirmed. The big publisher won’t be hosting its own event this month, suggesting it simply doesn’t have enough to show.
Since 2020, Ubisoft has been hosting its show under the Ubisoft Forward banner, which effectively replaced its E3 showcase. In 2020, the company held two events, one in July and the other in September. Ubisoft Forward returned last year with a show in June.
When it confirmed the news to Axios, Ubisoft didn’t say why it wasn’t producing the show this month, but did confirm that it was hosting an event “later this year.”
It’s unclear if any of Ubisoft’s upcoming games will appear as part of third-party events, such as Geoff Keighley’s Summer Games Festival. In fact, Ubisoft has been known to roll out trailers and reveal at events for partner platform holders.
For example, it’s not uncommon for the company to show up at the Xbox and Bethesda Showcase to showcase the rumored new Assassin’s Creed game set to be released soon. We can also revisit Mario + Rabbit Fire of Hope at the Nintendo event.
In addition to Assassin’s Creed and Rabbit, a slew of free games that may need an update were announced last year, not to mention the Avatar: Pandora’s Frontier game.
Of course, Ubisoft isn’t the only publisher skipping this summer showcase. EA won’t be bringing back EA Play this year, either.
