Uh, this could be a hotly contested and very exciting weekend of football, as UFL, the newest competitor to EA Sports FC, enters open beta this weekend.
UFL has been simmering on a low flame for some time now and has been diligently examined in closed alpha phases since the autumn. But now, just a few days before the European Football Championship, the developers are daring to go public.
From the 7th to the 9th, an open beta will take place for the first time on Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. In other words, you all have the opportunity to finally try out the title for yourself. The pre-load for both versions is already available.
It will be exciting in any case, after all, the development team Strikers Inc. has already invested eight years in development and officially announced the final version of the game, based on the Unreal Engine 5, in 2021. With Cristiano Ronaldo, UFL also has a well-known investor who has reportedly invested a whopping 40 million US dollars in the development.
When the time finally comes for the title to be officially released, it is expected to compete as a free-to-play title against EA Sports FC and eFootball.
Let’s hope that the open beta gets some attention, because unfortunately Electronic Arts is releasing the free Euro update tomorrow for the upcoming European Championship. Football fans will probably be split as to whether they should give the young competitor a chance or whether they would rather simulate how the German national team will perform in the tournament.
