Do you still have an overview of how often the film version of Uncharted has been postponed or how often the director has changed? No? That is not a bad thing, because it has become really difficult to keep an overview. However, the fact is that the start date has now been postponed again and we have to wait longer again.

It was to be expected in the end that this would happen, because there were again uncertainties about the filling of the director's post. As a result, Sony Pictures has now confirmed that the live action film about Nathan Drake will only start on March 5, 2021. This corresponds to a postponement of three months, because the last date announced was December 18, 2020 as the start date.

The Uncharted film has been in development for a whopping 13 (!) Years and has already devoured six directors. Most recently, Travis Knight ("Bumblebee") left the project due to time constraints; previously Dan Trachtenberg should have led the work.

According to reports, as the seventh director, Ruben Fleischer ("Zombieland") is now really to advance the filming. The main roles will include Tom Holland ("Spider-Man: Homecoming") as Nathan Drake and Mark Wahlberg as Sully. The film should not be a direct adaptation of the video games.
