The Uncharted film adaptation has not always been a bad star, which was reflected not least in a number of changes by the director. For a variety of reasons, several candidates jumped again.
After the project was launched in 2008, Shawn Levy, Seth Gordon, Neil Burger, David O'Russel, Dan Trachtenberg and Travis Knight were to take on the director's position, but were all eliminated. Now Ruben Fleischer ("Venom") will take over the scepter – and it should actually start shortly.
According to a new report, Fleischer has now signed his contract and filming is scheduled to start in around four weeks in March. Nathan Drake actor Tom Holland confirmed this in an interview. "We'll start shooting in about four weeks. Mark Wahlberg will be stunning as Sully, the stunts department we have here in Berlin has done an incredible job preparing the stunts – and it will be exciting" , says Holland.
Most recently, Holland had already expressed its enthusiasm for the script. The theatrical release is scheduled for March 2021.
