Upload VR, one of the main specialized media in games for virtual reality, he has announced the Upload VR Showcase: Summer Edition, where they will present the next titles that will reach the helmets of the different companies on 8 of June. The presentation, originally planned to air as part of the canceled E3 2020, will be hosted on YouTube and IGN, as part of its alternative to the Los Angeles fair, Summer of Gaming.
Since Upload VR they define the event as "Videos in the style of a Nintendo Direct, but focused exclusively on new virtual reality games". Organizers who have been "working hard" planning this edition, in which they will show "more than 20 VR games". Among them will be some of "the biggest virtual reality developers".
They cite studies as Fast Travel Games (The Curious Tale of the Stolen Pets, Apex Construct) and Cloudhead Games (Pistol Whip). They also promise that there will be independent developers and "one or two new studios that have been secretly working" on VR video games for the past few months and years.
The first showcase was held at E3 2019 where they showed titles like the one mentioned Pistol Whip, After the fall and Budget Cuts 2. The time this year's edition will be held will be announced soon.
Digital alternatives to E3 2020
Summer of Gaming IGN In which this Upload VR Showcase is framed is just one of the digital alternatives that have emerged after the cancellation of E3. Another American medium, Gamepot, announced a charity initiative for June where they will present games, show gameplay and interview developers: Play for all.
Geoff Keighley, host of The Game Awards, announced the Summer Game Fest, a website that will function as a repository for conferences and presentations made by the main video game companies. It will also have its own content, the first of which is the presentation of a "surprise game" on May 12.
