Google artificial intelligence Gemini is now also available as an app for Android cell phones – but not in Germany for the time being. We’ll show you how you can still use the Gemini app.
Google’s artificial intelligence (AI) is now no longer called Bard, but Gemini, the company recently announced. Not the only change: In the future, you will no longer only be able to access Gemini via the browser, but also via an app. On the iPhone, Gemini is integrated into the Google app; on Android phones, the AI has its own app. For now, the Gemini apps are only available in the USA. With a trick you can at least install and use the Android app in Germany now.
The Gemini Android app is currently not available for download in the German Google Play Store. In order to still be able to use it, you have to get the so-called APK file. There are several contact points online. The best known is probably the APK Mirror website. Download the Gemini APK file from the internet and install it. Download APK files only from reputable sources. Otherwise there is a risk that they may contain malware or viruses.

If the Gemini app does not work on your device, it may be necessary to change the system language to “English”. Also note that you need a Google account to use Gemini. However, not every Google account is approved for this. For workspace accounts, for example, the admin must have allowed you access to Google Gemini. Furthermore, you must be at least 18 years old.
