Unbelievable! Just a few days ago, Iron Gate Studios announced that they had reached a big milestone in Valheim, but the Viking survival game is just going through the roof.
The five men at Iron Gate Studios in Sweden must have done something right. Your early access title Valheim keeps going off like a rocket. It was only recently announced that Valheim had sold a whopping two million copies within the first 13 days. But now even this brand has been pulverized again.
The message just came in that Valheim has now reached the 3 million mark, just 16 days after publication in Early Access. An insane success for the indie title, which is not even finished and officially released. And other numbers about the game are also impressive.
Valheim has received over 60,000 positive user reviews on Steam and has now made it into the top 250 best rated games on Steam. Namely on rank 78 (and rising). It is currently the seventh most streamed game on Steam, ahead of the likes of CS: GO, Dota 2, Minecraft and Rust – over 20 million hours of Valheim gameplay have been followed by viewers so far.
An end to the hype about Valheim is apparently not in sight, especially since the studio still wants to grow. Further updates with new content and extensions are to follow until the final release at the beginning of next year.
