The next big discount campaign will start soon at Media Markt and Saturn – if you buy many campaign products, the electronics store will give you the 19 percent VAT for free. You can secure televisions, mobile phones, but also kitchen and household appliances at lower prices.
The campaign runs from Thursday, June 22nd at 8 p.m. in the Media Markt online shop. You have the opportunity to benefit from the discounts throughout the entire weekend until Monday, June 26th until 08:59 a.m. By the way: myMM and mySA customers can look forward to triple points on the entire range in the campaign. While brands such as Miele and Dyson were excluded from the last VAT campaign, the majority of the Media Markt range is taking part this year. Only the following brands and products are excluded from the promotion: Apple, Amazon, Blink, Tchibo, Tchibo Cafissimo, ISY, AVM, Synology, Sonos, Iris, creality, Ankermake, Flashforge, Snapmaker, Plustek, peaq, koenic, ISY, Thrustmaster and the Galaxy Week products.
No real 19 percent discount
The VAT refund suggests a discount of 19 percent. In fact, you get a price reduction of about 15.9 percent. This is because VAT is added to the net price of an item. If you get it refunded now, you will receive a discount of almost 16 percent on the gross price.
Where is the VAT campaign worthwhile?
The price reduction is particularly worthwhile for price-stable products such as the Nintendo Switch or the PS5. This is where you will most likely benefit most from the discount. Products from Dyson and Miele, which are usually quite expensive, should also be worthwhile. As always, the following applies, of course: Make a quick price comparison before you buy and see if and how much you really save when you buy.
