Less than a month after the release of PSVR 2, we learn that one of the most anticipated games will not be available at launch. We’ll have to wait before we get a big fright.
PSVR 2 will be available next month and has finally confirmed its lineup of 30+ games. Finally, now 29.
PSVR 2 loses one of its most important games
Sony Interactive Entertainment and its partners have worked hard to offer a great release lineup for PSVR 2. A toy library of all-new titles – designed for the PS5 VR headset – like Horizon Call of the Mountain, Gran Turismo 7 updates and Resident Evil Village, The Walking Dead Saints and Sinners 2, or even remastered titles like the excellent Moss 1 & 2 or Thumper.
Unfortunately, this list of 30+ games has just been turned on its head with the postponement of one of the big games. A title that should be available on February 22, 2023 and which should exploit a feature forbidden for heart patients. In fact, the Supermassive Games studio was forced to delay the release of The Dark Pictures: Switchback VR.
The Dark Pictures: Switchback VR is Supermassive Games’ most ambitious virtual reality project to date. It takes players through five sprawling worlds divided into different terrifying rollercoaster courses based on The Dark Pictures franchise.
Our goal has always been to release the game during the launch window of the new PSVR 2 headset. But it’s also important to us that you, the player, have the best possible and most terrifying experience when stepping aboard for your first spin in The Dark Pictures Switchback VR. In this regard, we have made the difficult decision to delay the release until March 16, 2023.
Thank you for your enthusiasm and patience, it makes all the difference for us! We can’t wait to tell you more about our dark roller coaster ride from Hell, and keep an eye on our account for a new in-depth video soon.
