Where is the development of Max Payne 1 & 2 Remake? Remedy Entertainment (Alan Wake 2, Control) brought excellent news in its latest financial report.
We didn’t expect it, but Remedy Entertainment is about to revisit a cult franchise with Max Payne 1 & 2 Remake. If “remake” isn’t plural, that’s because the studio has taken a different route than completely remaking the two episodes. Instead, these adventures will be combined into a single title on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The developers are going to release the big game, and right now, things are going very well.
More news from Max Payne 1 & 2 Remake
After the excellent Control, which has an expansion, and Alan Wake 2, Remedy Entertainment has other projects in the pipeline. And one of the most anticipated programs in development is clearly the remake of the first two Max Payne games. An unexpected return was made possible by the successful conclusion of negotiations with Rockstar Games (GTA), the owner of the franchise.
“Max Payne has always held a special place in the heart of every Remedy member, and we know millions of fans around the world feel the same. We’re thrilled to once again work with our partners at Rockstar Games to bring players the story, action and atmosphere of the original Max Payne games in a way never seen before.” said Tero Virtala, CEO of Remedy, during the announcement.
We still don’t have any images, but we do know that Max Payne 1 & 2 Remake will have a significant budget, in line with previous productions from Remedy Entertainment. For months, the Finns have been claiming that the game will go into production this year, and that’s true. « Max Payne 1&2 Remake has moved from the pre-production phase to the production phase. The team developed the game until it was functional from start to finish » announces Remedy in its latest financial report. Very good news for the legendary games, even if this reinterpretation will have a different tone due to the death of Jeffrey MacCaffrey, the voice of the hero.
