Virtue MontrealThe Canadian development studio recently uploaded a video to their official YouTube channel, convincing some fans that they are working on a Metal Gear Solid project. This is thanks to certain clues left in said video, as well as previous reports claiming a partnership between them and Konami.

The first big clue comes around 72 seconds into the video, when fans spot a lamp propped up on the desk of concept artist Louis-Alex Boismenu. It’s not the center frame, but it’s clearly visible and a special book that can be gifted as an official video.

But hey, by itself, who cares! ? Why don’t artists keep a copy of The Art of Metal Gear Solid on their desks? This is clearly a good book, and as an artist, Boycemenou owns it is not without question. However, this becomes even more suspicious when we look at VGC’s 2021 report on Konami’s recovery of many of its IPs.

The article features anonymous sources talking about how the Japanese company hopes to revive some of their hit franchises, including Metal Gear Solid, Silent Hill and Castlevania. They were told directly that Virtuos was working on the project, and that it would be a game focused on fan-favorite Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater.

The same article and previous VGC reports claim that multiple Silent Hill games are in development. This has been proven true, as we saw in the recent stream of announcements that revealed Silent Hill 2 Remake, Silent Hill Downfall, and Silent Hill: Ascension.

These two professional puzzle pieces seem enough to convince some that the rumors are true, and jumping here with a bit of a personal opinion seems a little too obvious to just be a mistake. It’s one thing if it’s a book on someone’s desk filmed within studio confines. But deliberately leaving the book affected, coupled with previous reports, has actually confirmed it.

But what do you think? If Virtuos does make a new Metal Gear Solid, would you be interested in playing it? Or would it be different without the island? Let us know below!
