Inevitably Pokémon is always related to Japan, its country of origin. The Japanese country takes advantage of the most successful franchise to show off with Pokémon sewers, for example. So now that the Olympic Games will be held in Tokyo, we would not be surprised to see Olympic mascots that refer to Pokémon, Mario Bros. or any other video game character. Each Japanese city has its own traditions and festivals like the one celebrated in Sapporo these February days. It is called Sapporo Snow Festival and consists of a international ice sculpture contest where teams from different regions of the world participate.
This year one of those sculptures is a first generation Pokémon. As you can see in the following image, it is about an especially Christmas Vulpix, since it has a layer attached to the neck that makes it more adorable than normal. In fact, this ice sculpture could well represent the Vulpix Alola form because of its nuclear white color. So if you are thinking of traveling to Japan, remember that this is the most important winter festival in the country, which can be seen better from Tokyo Tower because everything is installed in Odori Park.
Every year many teams from all over the world are presented and made hundreds of ice sculptures, so it is not surprising that they make more than one Pokémon. Vulpix is a fire-type Pokémon that was introduced in the first generation along with its majestic Ninetales evolution. However, few people know that Vulpix was going to have a much more adorable preevolution. You can see everything that this Festival offers in the official website.
