The good news is that for those unhappy with the state of Hellraiser 2 since the Freedom Upgrade update was deployed, a new patch has now been released, which is likely Arrowhead’s first step towards addressing all of the complaints.
If you’re not already aware, the studio had previously put together a 60-day plan of changes to help get the game back to where the majority of players wanted it to be, and at first glance, this update is definitely a step in the right direction.

As stated in the patch notes for patch 01.001.004, the biggest fixes it provides are all aimed at improving situations with several mechanics that vocal players have been experiencing recently.
For example, Arrowhead has “reduced the blast radius of the tentacle stabbing ability and light rockets.” “This should alleviate excessive ragdolling from Impaler and Automaton enemies using light rockets,” it explains, “We are still working on improving overall ragdoll behavior.”
Another tweak that’s likely to be welcome is a fix that should prevent flamethrower particles from ignoring enemies, hopefully letting you grill your bugs more effectively, even if Arrowhead is still working on fixing the chain-link fence that blocks flames.

Then it fixed a bug where “under certain circumstances, the Impaler’s tentacles could chase you indefinitely,” which sounds both scary and hilarious, and there are a bunch of crash scenarios. Also, if a mine is “close to a dangerous object,” you can now shoot at it to blow it up.
Finally, as usual, Arrowhead mentioned a number of issues it’s still working on, including bleeding enemies not contributing to progress on personal orders and elimination missions, and Bile Giants sometimes not taking any headshot damage.
