Sony has yet to reveal pricing for its 30th Anniversary Edition PS5 series, but a reliable leaker may have.
The PS5 might not have that many games (check out its Wikipedia page for games exclusive to the platform), but it does have one thing this year: a gorgeous-looking PlayStation-themed original edition to celebrate the company’s 30th anniversary. I don’t really need anything, and it definitely captures the nostalgic part of me, but damn, the PSX’s color scheme is still unmatched. The only problem is that the price point hasn’t been announced yet, so for those of you who enjoy posting Futurama’s Fry “Take my money” meme, you don’t know how much you’re going to spend yet.

However, the ever-reliable Billbil-kun, who is known for frequently and accurately leaking upcoming PlayStation Plus games and the like, has reportedly shared how much at least some of the games will cost. Firstly, the PS5 Digital Edition will cost $450, which is about $50 more than the standard Digital Edition. On top of that, if you want to buy the PSX-themed controller separately, it’ll apparently cost you $80, which is also the price of the recently released limited edition Astro Bot controller, so that’s understandable.
Billbil-kun didn’t reveal any details about the PS5 Pro or PlayStation Portal, but given the price hike for the PS5 Digital Edition, you’ll probably be looking at at least a $50 increase over the regular Pro (which already costs a whopping $700). As for Portal, your guess is as good as mine, but it’s safe to say the increase won’t be more than $50.
Sony’s pricing is certainly a bit cheeky in some places at the moment, and our own Tom explained why the $700 price tag for the PS5 Pro bothers him so much — so much so that he’s figured out how cheap he can make it.
