Lantern , the upcoming new live-action show for the DCU reboot, has made some good progress with its casting recently, and now James Gunn has confirmed when you can expect to watch it.

It's hard to say for sure what Gunn and Peter Safran's new DCCU will look like at this point, since we haven't seen anything yet. The new connected universe will be kicked off with the upcoming animated series “Biocommando,” which will be released on December 5. But obviously, a lot of fans are interested in seeing the classic characters they all know and love. Superman will kick off next year on the film side, with Peacemaker Season 2 taking us back to the world of television. In terms of new live-action TV shows, though, Lantern will be the first to do so, and in a recent interview with IGN , the director and DC Studios co-CEO shared a rundown of what you can expect time.

“It's really Creature Squad, Superman, Peacemaker, Lantern, Supergirl,” Gunn said. “There's still things people don't know.” Supergirl is currently scheduled to hit theaters on June 26, 2026, so when asked if “Lantern” would air before then, Gunn explained, “We'll see when it comes out, but they'll be around the same time,” noting that “we're gearing up” to go into production on The Lantern.

Last month, DC finally cast Hal Jordan and John Stewart to play Kyle Chandler and Aaron Pierre, respectively, but as expected, some fans had some thoughts on Chandler's casting. To which Gunn responded sarcastically: “Wait a minute, comic book fans have a problem with the casting. What are you talking about!?” The actor then went on to say more seriously: “The truth is Chris [Mundy] and tom [King] and damon [Lindelof] Wrote an amazing series, like an incredible series. I'm excited for people to see this. It's very grounded, very believable, very real. You'd never think this would be the truth in the TV series “Green Lantern.” ”

Don't expect to see anything from Lantern just yet, considering production hasn't quite begun yet, but with Superman set to hit theaters on July 11, 2025, you can probably start betting on when we'll get a trailer.
