The biggest criticism of Warcraft 3: Reforged is still its missing features. Especially in multiplayer, players have to live with immense cuts compared to the original version. There is no competitive ranking, nor can you look at the opponents' profiles. The fans no longer want to be offered that.
A mod project called W3Champions comes from fans and integrates its own ranking for Warcraft 3: Reforged. Players can also easily visit individual player profiles on the project website.

How does W3Champions work?
The special thing about W3Champions is that the fan ladder was easily integrated into the client of Warcraft 3: Reforged. As soon as you start the game, you can search for ranked games directly from the familiar menu. For all other features you have to visit the website. So far there are only rankings for 1on1 games, 2on2 and more should follow later.
The following features are provided with W3Champions:
- Functional and global ladder system: Contains information on wins, losses, win rate and level of the player.
- Rudimentary in-game integration: In the Versus screen you will find your own tab after the installation to search for matches.
- Own matchmaking: Matchmaking in W3Champions is based on how good the win / loss ratio is, how many games have been played and how long the player has been in the queue. Although the ranking is global, players are still matched by region for performance.
- Player profiles on the website: There you can find each player and see their statistics. These include how good he is with the individual breeds.
However, the project is far from over. The ladder was released on March 17th and has received regular updates since then. However, since this is a community project, errors can still occur from time to time. If you have a problem, you can always contact the developers yourself on Discord.
If you also want to help with the development, there is also the possibility to allow a few donations via Paypal or Patreon. You don't have to pay anything to download the mod.
When does the real ladder come & what happens afterwards?
Even though W3Champions will of course help now, Blizzard will probably add an official ranking list to Reforged sooner or later. But when the time comes is a mystery.
A new patch was released last week, but it cleaned up minor details. Large features have not yet been delivered. However, the developers promised in the patch notes that there will soon be more information on the ranking and profiles.
Then what happens to W3Champions? This is not yet completely clear. Should the day come, the community will decide whether the project continues or the developers focus on other projects using the same technology.
