Blizzard Entertainment has released the next remake of a real-time strategy classic with Warcraft III: Reforged after StarCraft Remastered, but the players and fans are apparently far from satisfied with it.

For Blizzard Entertainment, the launch of Warcraft III: Reforged is obviously much more complicated and difficult than expected, because their own community is currently storming the cult developer.
With Warcraft III: Reforged, the long-standing and popular classic from 2002 was to be updated and improved in line with the times, but not everyone is satisfied with the result. When it was announced in 2018, the studio promised, among other things, graphic enhancements, improved cut scenes, balancing improvements and gameplay optimizations. At the same time, a big update for the original game with hero changes, support for widescreen monitors and an update of the map pool was published. In addition, with this update a modern launcher was used in the style of the Battle.net launcher – and all of this also plays a role in the current criticism.
Reforged is now available and, among other things, the revised cutscenes annoy fans. The community is dissatisfied with the results, also because they do not live up to the previous promises. The new animations are sometimes considered unsuccessful, the camera does not capture the whole thing as cinematically as promised in a sizzle reel in 2018, and the new sounding sometimes still looks old-fashioned, the criticism.
In addition, the performance of Warcraft III: Reforged leaves a lot to be desired. Players complain about connection problems, especially in connection with custom matches. Own campaigns that originally worked perfectly are suddenly no longer accessible and there is no competitive ranking.
And because after the major update in 2018, the original game and the reforged version now share the platform, the most loyal fans can no longer simply return to the original Warcraft III, because after the reforged start it now simply has the same problems. Given the same infrastructure used, no surprise!
In the forums, fans run against Blizzard and are sometimes very clear in their statements. "I don't want your new shit, I want my old client and my custom campaigns back," is just one example.
Last but not least, Blizzard has also renewed the terms that must be recognized to play the title. The custom game modes received a decisive change: Almost all new custom modes actually belong to Blizzard after the reformulation, and of course the mod community doesn't like that at all. Blizzard doesn't want to miss out on possible pop mods like the original Dota of his time.
