Warframe is getting another major update this month, with Duviri Paradox launching on PC, Xbox, PlayStation, and Switch on April 26.
The update, a massive open-world experience that adds a new rogue-like quest, was previously delayed for mysterious reasons. Soon, players who couldn’t wait to jump in earlier this year will be able to experience new story developments, game mechanics, and a variety of unlockable content.
Duviri Paradox seems to be split into two paths: one where you play as the original character, and one where you play as The Drifter, as they’ve gone through different paths in the new content. You’ll be able to play both games regardless of your initial choice, but it certainly points to some interesting story developments with this update. As a rule of thumb, things are bound to get interesting when The Drifter is involved.
Once you’ve completed your new quest, you’ll be able to choose what type of content to play next in Warframe’s fourth open-world map. “The Circuit” offers a new Warframe Only endless game mode, “The Duviri Experience” is a full open world adventure, and “The Lone Story” is a single player narrative experience.
This update brings The Drifter an upgraded melee system, Duviri Paradox specific upgrades in the form of decrees, and a new Incarnon Genesis system that allows you to upgrade certain weapons and various other side activities. All in all, it looks heavy and well worth getting back into the game if you’ve been out for a while.
We actually spoke to Rebecca Ford before The Duviri Paradox was delayed, if you want to dig into the update and the development team’s thought process as they made it.
