Strategists and Warhammer fans will soon be able to throw themselves into a huge campaign. Because on August 23, Immortal Empires will be released as an open beta for Warhammer 3 and lets you conquer the largest map that has ever existed in a Total War game as one of 86 legendary commanders.
Shortly before the release, the developers show again in a video what gigantic proportions we have to reckon with and lead us in a long tracking shot across the map. For more than 13 minutes, the annotated video shows the various nooks and crannies of the huge map of Immortal Empires. Factions, characters and their challenges are presented. But it’s best if you take a look for yourself:

The video also gives a good impression of the enormous dimensions of the map: you will be able to conquer 554 regions with their own settlements in Immortal Empires and at the beginning of the game there are 287 factions on the map. Of course, not all of them are shown in the video, but it is about some important factions and commanders, such as:
- Hochkönigin Khalida Neferher has reclaimed her homeland, but must face the vampire counts who also lay claim to it.
- Ku’Gath Plaguefathera servant of the Chaos God Nurgle, fights against the ancient Lizardmen civilization on the Dragon Isles.
- Miao Yingruler of the northern provinces of the Cathay Empire, must defend the Great Bastion from oncoming enemies such as Chaos Barbarians and Hobgoblins.
- N’Karia demon affiliated with the Chaos God Slaanesh, arrives on Chrace to either annihilate or subdue the resident high elves of Ulthuan.
The variety of factions, characters, and conflicts featured in the video is something strategy expert Fabiano probably wished for sooner. As early as March, he explained why, in his opinion, a new campaign was urgently needed:
