I don’t know about you, but I certainly didn’t expect to hear about Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun at Warhammer Skulls. But Auroch Digital has made the announcement, and it may even exceed the expectations of fans of the retro shooter.
Boltgun will be getting some new content in the form of Furnace of Corruption The DLC, along with the free updates, delivers long-requested features.

The Crucible of Corruption will be available on June 18th, bringing a brand new environment to the game. You’ll also be using chainswords and bolters to take on new enemies including Chaos Hellbeasts, Havocs, and Terminators. To help you with the challenge, you’ll have access to a Multifurnace and a Missile Launcher.
This appears to be the last bit of paid content coming to the game, as there will be a new edition called Forges of Corruption Edition that contains the base game and the DLC. All of this will be available on all platforms – except for the Nintendo Switch – which will be released at a later date.
If you don’t want to spend money, there’s also a big free content update coming to all gamers on June 18. Boltgun is finally getting a Horde mode, giving you the freedom to kill as many heretics as possible and see how long you can survive.
The new Horde mode has four difficulties to choose from and has its own set of achievements to unlock. The same patch also adds a navigation guide to the game, making traversing the game’s levels more directional.
You can also expect some quality of life changes and a few bug fixes. Watch the trailer above for a preview of all this pixel-spilling content.
