We now have a better understanding of the setup and overall structure of “Warhammer 40,000: Dark Tide”.
Fatshark shared some new details about its upcoming cooperative action game, Warhammer 40,000: UndercurrentAs part of the Warhammer Skeleton live broadcast last night, the studio revealed that the famous Warhammer author Dan Abnet will co-write the game.
Abnett is a well-known Warhammer 40,000 writer responsible for the Gaunt’s Ghost series. Abnett also has a lot of work in video games, including Alien: Isolation and Monolith’s Morder game.
Darktide’s story will focus on the humans in the Warhammer 40,000 world, and this is the role we will play. This is a deliberate choice by Fatshark to make players feel vulnerable and emphasize the survival horror aspect of Darktide. The four heroes of the game are just as powerful as a unit, which is not much different from the early work of Fatshark and Vermintide.
The story of the game takes place in a hive city, where you will be recruited by the Inquisition to hunt down heretics and prevent the forces of Chaos from occupying the city.
The new trailer also touches on the structure of the game. Similar to Vermintide, there will be a hub area where you can select tasks from the task board. The more tasks you complete, the more help you get in the Inquisition. Over time, you will unlock more missions and more powerful equipment.
Warhammer 40,000: Darktide will be released on PC and Xbox Series X/S sometime this year.
