Good news for Warhammer fans, because Warhammer 40,000: Darktide finally has a concrete date for the Playstation 5, a long time after the other platforms.
Well, Fatshark took its time. Warhammer 40,000: Darktide, the spiritual successor to the popular Vermintide games, has been on the market for PC and Xbox since 2022 and 2023, respectively, but a PS5 version has yet to be released.
After it was confirmed in November that this was in the works, there is now a specific date and it is not far away. Because on December 3rd, Darktide will finally come to Sony consoles. And it’s quite inexpensive, the Standard Edition is available for 39.99 dollars in the Playstation Store, the Imperial Edition with various extras for 59.99 dollars.
From then on you can jump into battle cooperatively with up to four players, although in contrast to Vermintide the focus is more on gunfire than on close combat. The description of the game says:
Reclaim the city of Tertium from hordes of bloodthirsty enemies in this intense, brutal action shooter. Warhammer 40,000: Darktide is a new co-op experience from the award-winning team known for the Vermintide series. In the depths of the Macropolis, the seeds of corruption threaten to transform into an overwhelming tide of darkness. A mysterious, dark and yet unknown force is trying to take control of the city. It’s up to you and your allies in the Inquisition to eliminate the enemy before the city descends into chaos. With the fall of Tertium, the outcasts rise up.
Well then, happy chopping.
