Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2: Praise the Emperor, no microtransactions!

Emperor, marine, microtransactions, praise, Space, Warhammer

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 is a wonderfully blunt shooter that will be released in September. It also has an online component, which naturally raises some concerns about real-money investments. But as the developers have now happily confirmed, the game does not have any microtransactions.

The development studio Saber Interactive recently introduced various online modes for Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2. These include not only the PvP modes known from the predecessor, in which teams of six players each compete against each other, but also a PvE mode has been announced.

With so much online content, there are of course always concerns about unethical decisions on the part of the developer studio. However, as the publishing studio Focus Entertainment has now confirmed in a blog post, Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 does not contain any microtransactions at all.

There are of course already paid DLCs for Space Marine 2, but these are also very fair, as the article shows: “All gameplay content and features will be available to all players free of charge. All paid DLCs are purely cosmetic in nature.”

A refreshing decision in this day and age, when every title is packed with tons of paid content and even solo adventures are not safe. How numerous the cosmetic paid DLCs will ultimately be will be revealed at the release on September 9, 2024, when Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 appears on PC, Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5. We can also be excited to see whether the development studio can get the performance under control, which was still very weak in our preview of Space Marine 2.
