Warner Bros. Games has denied rumors that NetherRealm and TT Games are being sold.
Last weekend, new leaks indicate that Warner Bros. is seeking to sell Mortal Kombat creators Nether Studio, And its Lego game house TT gameThe information comes from Jez Corden of Windows Central, who revealed in his Xbox Two podcast that he saw some documents in which two studios are described as no longer “in the scope of the company’s future”.
Corden said that the decision to sell may be related to the performance of Mortal Kombat and Lego movies. After the news came out, Warner Bros. denied the rumor in a statement to The Gamer, confirming that the two teams will still be part of the WB Games group.
“I can confirm that NetherRealm Studios and TT Games will continue to be part of Warner Bros. Games and are included in the Warner Media Discovery merger,” said Remiskra, senior vice president of communications.
Just as the industry’s rumors about Warner Bros.’s intention to sell its gaming division came to an end, owner AT&T announced plans to merge WarnerMedia with Discovery, which could disrupt the WB Games Group.
The fate of the various studios of Warner Bros. Games is still unclear, and we have not heard any official comments about the changes (if any) to the lineup and studio ownership of the 11 studios. Currently, we know that once the merger is completed, Warner Bros. Discovery will become the new owner of WB Games.
