The Smash Bros.-style war is declared. And after PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale in 2012 and Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl recently, it’s possible a new challenger will emerge. To rule them all.
What was a joke could come true. Scooby-Doo’s Shaggy Rogers, whom we call Sammy in our latitudes, in a party fighting game? What if Warner Bros. really thought about it? Better: And if the giant of film and television production and distribution had already planned the coup.
According to a post brand new reddit has giant sneakers actually signed, a game a la Smash Bros. The merging of characters licensed from Warner has long been in development. According to Multiversus, this project could be called a registered trademark in September.
I was told that the origin of this game actually goes back to the Shaggy-based memes that entered Mortal Kombat in its “Ultra Instinct” form. Obviously, NR didn’t want to put it in a game like Mortal Kombat, so the ideas came up and Warner Bros. loved the idea of combining their features and establishing more Warner crossovers. As you obviously saw in Space Jam 2.
That’s all I have to share now. I know it sounds silly, but you’ll soon get back to this post wondering what it really was like. I don’t know when it will be announced, but it has been in development for a while. So I wouldn’t be surprised if it was at the Game Awards or early next year. But no idea.
Several characters are “confirmed” by this rumor / leak:
- Shaggy (Scooby Doo)
- Gandalf (The Lord of the Rings)
- Tom Jerry
- Batman
- Fred Flintstone
- Crazy Max
- Harry Potter and Ron (but maybe a rights issue prohibits it)
- Johnny bravo
Grubb confirmed and invalid
Further data: It would be NetherRealm Studio, which we know about a new project that is behind it, adapted to a new IP. In such a case, we could not pay attention to what was written and turn around laughing.
Except that someone intervened. Who comes on the web like always to validate this? Jeff Grubb, of course, who spoke on Twitter.
This WB fighting game exists, but it is not a Netherrealm game. Let’s see.
And now that the VentureBeat reporter stepped in and pointed out that NetherRealm is on Mortal Kombat 12, we need to keep our eyes and ears wide open.
