The new playlist update for CoD: Modern Warfare and CoD: Warzone is here and disables the helicopters in Battle Royale. Developer Infinity Ward does not give any official justification for this in the announcement.
However, some fans think they know the reason: A particularly serious exploit made it possible to fly under the map with a helicopter and scoop kills from there undisturbed. Many players reacted less enthusiastically to the tweet, which also lists all other innovations in the update

Are the helicopters coming back to Call of Duty?
There is no time limit for the measure in the notification, but it should be not a final change – after all, helicopters are the only flying vehicle in Warzone. A removal forever would probably not be announced in a tweet about the playlist update.
As is suspected by many in this Reddit discussion of helicopters, it may take some effort to fix the under-the-map glitch. In the meantime, it is certainly fairer to deactivate the helis completely than to leave this exploit option open.
How the glitch worked, shows the following YouTube video from OrBz. At a certain point at the port it was possible to fly into the bottom of the map with the helicopter and then move freely under Verdansk. So you could even get to the gulags.
What else is new in the Warzone update?
In addition to deactivating the helicopter, the playlist update brings Blood money triosthat replace the Warzone junk trios. Here you get more money for kills than in normal junk mode.
There are also new features in Modern Warfare:
- Shoot the Ship becomes even faster and messier Shipment 24/7.
- The Gun Game becomes Gun Game Reloaded: You have to make a kill with every weapon to get ahead.
- Also comes with Demolition a tactical mode in which you should try to outwit the opposing team.
