Little doubt that the biggest flagship that drives Activision is the franchise Call of Duty. Mainstream versions like Vanguard and free-to-play options like Warzone dominate the shooter market. Such is its popularity that it has raised concerns about its future as a possible Microsoft exclusive.
While today we can enjoy Call of Duty: Mobile, the truth is that the battle royale can only be played on desktop platforms. That will end in the future as Activision has announced who is working on a mobile version of Warzone.
The quality will be that of an “AAA experience” that aims to emulate the colossal battles we fought in Caldera. By now we know that Solid State Studios, Beenox, Digital Legends, Demonware and two other Activision divisions are at the forefront of the project.
There are six studios currently looking for staff to work on the project, which is made up of veterans in mobile development. Warzone on mobile is being built natively, so it will not be a port or a version played from the cloud. In any case, for now we are left without a release date, although it is assumed that we will see it on both Android and iOS.
