Nintendo will host the E3 2021 Nintendo Direct live broadcast today, you can watch it here.
This Nintendo Direct: E3 2021 The live broadcast will be on 9 a.m. Pacific time, 12 p.m. Eastern time, 5 p.m. UK, 6 p.m. CEST. You will be able to watch it through the company’s YouTube and Twitch channels. We have embedded the YouTube version below.
It will last about 40 minutes and will focus on games that will land on Switch this year.
In other words, don’t expect to hear that the rumored Switch Pro is under development.
As far as expectations are concerned, Nintendo is a bit like a wildcard, at least in terms of its own announcements. In other words, this year is the 35th anniversary of the Legend of Zelda series, so we are fully looking forward to the appearance of some Link goodness.
With the launch of Skyward Sword HD in July, the game shown during the demo may be a sure bet.
There may be more Zelda waiting for us. The company may announce that old games from the franchise will land on Switch. Does this mean the high-definition version of Wind Waker or Twilight Princess implied by some Internet rumblings? Nintendo has brought high-definition versions of two games to Wii U, why not use Switch? People can have hope, but we will not be too excited about a possibility.
Breath of the Wild 2 is also under development, E3 and Zelda Anniversary are the best time to provide us with development updates. Let us look forward to a release date.
Not only is Zelda 35 years old, Metroid is also 35 years old this year, Donkey Kong is also 40 years old. Will they let these anniversaries pass without games or celebrations? We will have to wait and see.
There may be some Pokemon news that is well thrown out. After all, Pokemon Brilliant Diamonds and Sparkling Pearls will be launched in November, and it would be nice to look at it again. Then, the upcoming action role-playing game Pokemon Legends: Arceus is under development. We may even get some interesting Pokemon Go news.
In other words, Nintendo may skip the Pokemon news and have a dedicated game live broadcast.
We fully hope to see some updates from Nintendo’s third-party partners, and there may be some independent gems that are well put into use.
As far as what Nintendo really prepared for us, we only need to listen to it to find the answer.
The Nintendo Direct E3 2021 display will be followed by the company’s annual Nintendo Treehouse Live. You can expect it to last about three hours.
