With Apple TV you can turn your ordinary TV into a Smart TV and stream live TV on Zattoo. This also works with other Apple devices.

With Zattoo you can stream over 180 TV channels over the Internet. If you don’t have a smart TV, you can also set up the app on an Apple TV or other Apple devices and thus transfer the program to the TV, among other things. Stream Zattoo on Apple TV – two options
There are two ways to stream Zattoo on Apple TV. Either you install the Zattoo app on your Apple TV or you use Airplay together with a mobile device such as an iPhone or iPad.
Download the Zattoo app on Apple TV (Option 1)
Connect your Apple TV to your television and the Internet. Open the App Store on your Apple TV and search for the Zattoo app. Download and install the app.
Once the installation is complete, open the app and log into your Zattoo account. You can now access your favorite channels.
Stream Zattoo from iPad/iPhone to Apple TV using AirPlay (Option 2)
First, make sure that your iPad or iPhone and your Apple TV are connected to the same home network. Download the Zattoo app from your mobile device’s app store. Once it’s installed, open the app and log into your Zattoo account. Start a program that you want to stream via Apple TV.
Click on the “Airplay” icon and then select your Apple TV device. When you’re done streaming, tap the “Airplay” icon again and this time select your mobile device from the list.
A notice: Please note that the Airplay method only works with devices running iOS 13 or later. You also need an Apple TV 4 or Apple TV 4K to stream Zattoo.
Controlling Zattoo via Apple TV: How it works
Create favorites: If you want to quickly access your favorite channels, you can add them to your favorites. To do this, open the settings in the Zattoo menu and navigate to “Manage channel list”. Now select the channels you want to add or remove as favorites.
Change favorites order: Go to “Manage channel list” in the Zattoo settings again. Select a channel from “My favorite channels” and press the up or down arrow to change the position.
Watch the show in replay: In Germany, you can watch the programs from the last seven days in replay – provided you have a Premium or Ultimate subscription. However, for licensing reasons, you cannot watch all channels such as Sport 1, Comedy Central, Nickelodeon and MTV. You can watch a program in replay by opening the program overview, the info field or the player and clicking on “Watch from the beginning”.
Zattoo: Fix problems streaming on Apple TV
If you have problems using Zattoo on your Apple TV, follow these tips:
Make sure you are connected to the internet. According to Zattoo, you need the following broadband speed to stream content smoothly:
- 0.5 Mbit/s – minimum required download speed
- 3 Mbit/s – recommended download speed for SD streams
- 5 Mbit/s – recommended download speed for HD streams
- 8 Mbit/s – recommended download speed for Full HD streams
If your internet connection is too slow, you can try restarting your router. It is also important that you place the router near your Apple TV and TV. Here are a few more tips if you are having streaming problems.
- Restart your Apple TV via Settings > System > Restart.
- Make sure your Apple TV is up to date. To check if software updates are available, go to Settings > System > Software Updates > Update Software.
- Delete the Zattoo app. To do this, hold down the touch surface in the app. Then use the play/pause button and click “Delete”. Restart your Apple TV and reinstall the Zattoo app from the App Store.
- Reset your Apple TV to factory settings via Settings > System > Reset.

- Zattoo app version
- Apple-TV-Generation
- Model and iOS version of your iPhone/iPad if you stream Zattoo via Airplay
- Zattoo email address
