Finally there was some bad news about the online mode of Watch_Dogs: Legion, but at least on consoles this is now essentially available from today. We’ll give you another overview here.
After a long wait, today Ubisoft gave the go-ahead for the long-awaited online mode of Watch_Dogs: Legion. This applies at least to the Xbox One, Xbox Series X / S, PS4, PS5 and Stadia platforms, because the PC implementation was initially postponed indefinitely due to a more serious bug that led to crashes. Today’s announcement promises that you will be able to get started “shortly afterwards” via the Epic Games Store and Ubisoft Store.
What is included in the new online part? Ubisoft itself answers this question as follows:
For all those who have the Season Pass, two exclusive missions are now playable:
-
Guardian Protocol: DedSec is chasing an algorithm that would allow artificial intelligence to override human decisions. Without DedSec, this technology could lead to heavily armed drones and thus fully automatic killing machines.
-
Not in our name: A mysterious group not only steals DedSec’s name, but also information that a nefarious gossip press owner uses to blackmail.
The “Tactical Op” mode, originally planned for today, has also been postponed. The first such operation, which requires teamwork and efficiency, will be available under the name “Leitwolf” from March 23rd. Additional content will also appear after launch in the form of free updates, including the Invasion PvP mode, new co-op missions, new characters and much more.
