Ubisoft recently released the new Watch_Dogs: Legion after delays, but a promised feature is still a long time coming.
When Watch_Dogs: Legion came out, an online multiplayer mode was not part of the game; However, this was still promised until the end of 2020. Now it is clear: Unfortunately, nothing will come of this after all. A release before the one-year deadline is now no longer on the plan.
Ubisoft has published a statement to this effect on the official website. It states: “Since the launch of Watch_Dogs: Legion, some of you have continued to have technical issues preventing you from enjoying the game. The development team is in the process of fixing these issues and will not rest until everyone has finished the game like this can experience as we planned. “
The update to version 2.20 for PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Stadia should therefore be available this week. This will add a manual game save function on the PC and also bring stability improvements; the The full patch log is already available for reading here.
And that in turn brings us to the aforementioned multiplayer part: “Since we want to fix the problems of the game, we have decided to postpone the online mode of Watch_Dogs: Legion to the beginning of 2021. This means that we can look back at the bug fixes for the single-player game. Focus on the mode and it will give us more time to test the online experience so that the mode release goes smoothly. “
In the coming month, further optimizations are to follow, including further stability improvements, graphics optimizations on the PC and the achievement of constant 60 fps on powerful graphics cards. The online mode, which is now planned for 2021, will offer you co-op missions for groups of up to four players. There are also special multiplayer-only modes, for example a classic deathmatch Spiderbot arena for up to eight players.
