There was almost a new Titanfall
What happened? On Tuesday, January 31, 2023, publisher EA presented its latest quarterly figures and announced that the revenue target expected by analysts was more than just missed.
In order to get back on track, EA has announced some measures: Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will be postponed, the mobile version of Apex Legends will be discontinued soon and a Battlefield for mobile devices in development will never appear – the responsible Studi Indsturial Toys will even completely dissolved.

Battlefield and Apex Legends Mobile discontinued in one fell swoop
However, it is much more tragic for many GameStar readers that, according to Jason Schreier, a real new Titanfall game has also been discontinued. After the development of Titanfall 3 initially resulted in the extremely successful battle royale Apex Legends, the popular shooter series remained silent for a long time.
As has now become known, a new single-player game was apparently in development: The canceled project, codenamed TFL (Titanfall Legends), was a single-player title set in the universe of Apex Legends and Titanfall. It was managed by veteran designer Mohammad Alavi until he left the company in early 2022.
While the game was never officially announced, it was hinted at multiple times by EA – and now EA has pulled the plug. The approximately 50 developers who were involved should now be distributed to other studios and help with other titles.
