What to expect from the Galaxy S23 presentation
The Samsung event will most likely focus on the new S series – the Samsung Galaxy S23. In the run-up to the new flagship models, some information came to light, which we have summarized for you in this article:

All information & rumors about the release, prices, specs and more
Samsung Galaxy S23
Let’s start right away with the most obvious product that Samsung is sure to introduce to us.
As in previous years, the manufacturer from South Korea will probably present us with a smaller model of the S series under this name. According to leaks, the Galaxy S23 is said to be very similar to its predecessor and will also be launched with a 6.1-inch FHD+ display. A refresh rate of 120 hertz will most likely be back on board as well.
Under the hood there is expected to be 8 GB of RAM and with that Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 the latest processor from Qualcomm. This will make the S23 one of the first smartphones in this country to feature the powerful SoC.
For some in the community, that’s cause for celebration. It means that Samsung is saying goodbye to the Exynos processors for the first time on the European market – at least as far as the S series is concerned.
Samsung will continue to use a triple camera for the standard models this year, consisting of a 50-megapixel wide-angle camera, an ultra-wide-angle camera with 12 megapixels and a 10-megapixel telephoto camera. The selfie camera should have a resolution of 12 megapixels and be slightly better than last year.
According to rumors so far, the battery will be launched with a capacity of 3,900 mAh. In addition, the series probably starts with a memory size of 256 GB.
Samsung S23 Plus
The Plus series now has a solid tradition at Samsung. For 2023 we therefore expect the Galaxy S23 Plus with a 6.6-inch FHD+ display.
Unlike its little brother, the larger model is expected to come with a 4,700 mAh battery. Along with the larger screen, these are the only two key features that set the S23 Plus apart from the smaller 6.1-inch offshoot. So the specs will mostly stay the same.
Compared to its predecessor – the S22 Plus – the differences will mainly be found in the processor. Last year the Exynos 2200 was used. This year, the entire S23 family will be equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdargon 8 Gen 2.
Samsung S23 Ultra
The Samsung S23 Ultra is likely to be the most anticipated smartphone of the S series. Compared to the smaller models in the series, the S23 Ultra will probably receive more extensive upgrades.
The Galaxy S23 Ultra is rumored to be getting a 200-megapixel main camera that’s said to feature a new sensor. With the help of tetrapixel technology, more pixels can be added together (pixel binning) and images can be snapped with either 50 (2×2 blocks) or 12.5 megapixels (4×4 blocks).
What is the goal? This allows, among other things, detailed and sharp images to be shot in poor lighting conditions. In particular, »SuperQPD« should be used here, which improves the autofocus in poor light and enables recordings with 50 megapixels. This is to increase the level of sharpness. Thanks to the integrated periscope camera with a tenfold optical zoom, impressive zoom shots should also be possible.
In addition to the improved camera, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is the main improvement compared to its predecessor. Like last year’s Ultra model, a 6.8-inch QHD+ display with a refresh rate of 120 Hertz will be installed.
In addition, the model will probably again have up to 12 GB of RAM and up to 1 TB of storage. You should get through the day with the built-in 5000 mAh battery. In terms of looks, Samsung will probably not make any major changes. According to the previous leaks, however, the camera lenses will be larger.
OneUI 5.1 will appear
It is very likely that the new smartphones will be released from the factory with the latest OS version from Samsung. The changelogs of the Watch 5 update show that One UI 5.1 is already in the starting blocks.
Specifically, the watch receives an updateto control camera zoom on certain smartphones. However, so far only selected cell phones seem to be able to enjoy this feature. You can find out exactly what these are in this article:

Is a new Galaxy Book 3 coming?
It is very likely that not only smartphones await us on February 1st. A new laptop also seems to be in the starting blocks. After all, in addition to a smartphone, a Galaxy Book can already be reserved on the official website.
So we definitely anticipate the Galaxy laptop reveal. According to the leaks so far, it seems to be a high-end model for professional users.
Samsung Unpacked: We don’t expect these hardware innovations on February 1st
What we’re not expecting at the Samsung event is a new Galaxy Tab S9. So far, hardly any information about the new tablet series has reached the public. Although the Tab S8 was released last year together with the S22 series, Samsung seems to be going a different route this year.
We also don’t expect any new wireless headphones. The Galaxy Buds Pro 2 were launched in August last year along with the Z Fold 4 and Z Flip 4.
Their foldable successors will most likely only be presented at the next unpacked event in autumn together with the new Watch 6 smartwatches.
