If you’ve been playing Starfighter 2 recently, you may have found yourself one of the many people eager to see more Chaos Starfighter content. Whether it’s customisation options for the PvP multiplayer mode, or some PvE missions to help flesh out the opposing factions, people are eager for more love for the Warhammer bad guys. There may be some good news in the future, as Starfighter 2’s creative director has offered some hope for Chaos content on Twitter.
Saber Interactive Creative Director Oliver Hollis-Leick has spent a lot of time on the social media platform in recent days answering questions from fans. Through these questions, we’ve learned about the new additions to Chaos in the future game.

When asked if there will be more customization or even PvE content for Chaos in the future, Hollis-Leick had the following response: “There have been a lot of requests for more customization for Chaos, so we may add it eventually. Chaos stories would be cool, but we’ll have to wait and see. I’d love to tell their stories!”
Customization options are one thing, but entirely new quests will be another daunting task. While the new armor parts are primarily the responsibility of Saber’s art and animation team, specialized quests require a lot more preparation. Hollis-Leick confirmed this in an additional response to similar questions from several eager fans.
“It’s not that simple. We need new animations for Chaos, proper balancing, full voiceovers and scripts for them to feel real. It’s a lot of work.” As the game stands now, Chaos has voice acting specifically for PvP. You need to bring those voice actors back and write new lines for them. Creating new quests requires the whole team to get involved, design the quests, make everything work, and as Hollis-Leick himself said, balance everything to make it fun.
While these comments are by no means a concrete confirmation that these are coming (if we let every developer have their say on all speculation and optimistic tweets about game development, many games would never see the light of day), it perhaps hints at the financial success of the game. Space Marines 2 already has a roadmap – one that does not mention Chaos customization. If this addition is possible, one can’t help but wonder if it means the scope has been expanded post-launch due to the game’s overwhelming popularity and critical reception.
You can only hope. Even with the short amount of time Chaos Marines have been in roleplay in PvP, players love their attitude and performance. If there’s some love you’d like to see for Chaos Marines in Space Marine II, why not let us know below?
