Eidos Montreal apparently at some point in time final fantasy 15has now been confirmed by a former art director.
Jonathan Jacque-Belletête, who used to work at Eidos in Montreal, recently spoke with TrueAchievements, confirming long-standing rumors that the Canadian developer is working on Final Fantasy XV.
“Eidos Montreal brought back Deus Ex. I was the art director of that production—Deus Ex: Human Revolution,” Jacque-Belletête explained to TrueAchievements about his time in the studio. “Then [I was] Executive Art Director of Mankind Divided. Then we tried to make Final Fantasy XV. Then they decided to bring it back to Japan – which I think was a big mistake, but it’s still true. Ours is really, really cool. ”
This isn’t actually the first time we’ve heard of Western-developed Final Fantasy 15. YouTuber Super Bunnyhop actually reported it as a rumor back in 2018, offering hypothetical details that Jacque-Belletête didn’t provide in a recent interview with TrueAchievements.
According to Super BunnyHop’s original video, Eidos Montreal has “some basic art, some basic game design, in a super secret office.” Beyond that, Eidos Montreal’s take on Final Fantasy 15 will make it a “space opera RPG” with some sort of love triangle.
Since Jacque-Belletête himself did not mention any of these details, it is impossible to determine whether any of them are true. But he just confirmed that the project’s existence does lend some credibility to Super BunnyHop’s claims.
Final Fantasy 15’s development stages are notoriously troublesome, so it’s no surprise to hear that Square Enix Try outsourcing its development. In the end, most of its DLC was canceled, making the project flawed but beloved.
While 15-year-olds may not see the love they deserve, final fantasy 9 At least got some, as the animated series could debut later this week.
Seems like Square Enix doesn’t have much love for Eidos Montreal either, recently sold it, and tomb Raider and out of the encirclementarrive hugger group.
