Companies can use the program for free
Cisco provides many practical tools for working in the home office. For example, you can currently use Webex Meetings software and the AnyConnect Secure Mobile Client VPN service for free.
To curb the spread of the new coronavirus, more and more companies are ordering their employees to work from home. However, existing software licenses are not always sufficient to attract all employees to video conferences or to grant secure access to corporate networks. Software provider Cisco wants to help and extend the capabilities of its free version of its Webex conferencing software.

In the future, this will allow meetings with up to 100 participants to have no time limit. Previous meetings were limited to 50 participants and lasted 40 minutes. Companies that have not yet become Webex customers will be able to test the free version of the tool within 90 days. According to Cisco, anyone who already uses Webex in the company will get additional features for free updates. However, Cisco did not provide any more details.
In addition to exchanging via video conferencing, security in the home office is also important. Cisco offers a range of tools to securely access corporate data at home and on the go. These include:
- Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client: This is a VPN service that should enable you to use your mobile device securely.
- Cisco Umbrella: Cisco Umbrella security software protects users from malicious links and websites.
- Duet safety: With Cisco Duo Security software, companies can uniquely identify devices or users before granting them access to the company network.
Cisco also offers these tools temporarily and free of charge. Existing customers can exceed their user limits, and new customers get a free trial license. In another article, we showed you other free VPN clients.
