News culture We’ve been waiting for this for a while! This series of infiltration video games will be entitled to a movie and production has only just begun…
The world’s most famous hackers will soon be in the spotlight.
From Black Goblins to Watch Dogs
We knew this since the beginning of March thanks to Deadline: Ubisoft is bringing one of its flagship licenses back to the cinema. After Assassin’s Creed, it is the watchdogs that infiltrate our dark rooms. At the time, it was said that Sophie Wilde was in negotiations to play the lead role and that the film would be produced by New Regency and directed by Mathieu Turi. Well, it’s all true! Ubisoft recently released a press release to formalize everything that is going on around this adaptation.
The Watch Dogs film, produced by New Regency, will therefore have Tom Blyth (Hunger Games) and Sophie Wilde (Talk to Me) in its ranks. As Deadline announced a few months ago, we will meet the French director of Gueules Noires, Mathieu Turi. Christie LeBlanc (“Oxygen”) and Victoria Bata will be in charge of the script. According to the French publisher, Yariv Milchan and Natalie Lehmann of New Regency will produce the film together with Margaret Boykin of Ubisoft Film & Television. Production is expected to begin in the summer.
Live Hacker
No information has been given regarding the story, except that it will be an original storyAs a reminder, the Watch Dogs franchise includes three software programs to date: Watch Dogs, Watch Dogs 2 and Watch Dogs: Legion. These titles each revolve around hacker rebels who try to fight against the injustices allowed by the CTOS, a digital information system that connects entire cities on the same network. “From Aiden Pearce in Chicago to Marcus Holloway in San Francisco and the citizens of a dystopian London, members of the hacker organization DedSec use their advanced hacking apps and gadgets to undermine the oppressive rule of CTOS and expose the corruption that lies behind the system,” we read on the Ubisoft website. While we wait to find out what this film has in store for us, Ubisoft invites us to (re)discover Watch Dogs, Watch Dogs 2 and Watch Dogs: Legion by subscribing to Ubisoft+ Premium.
