What about the “Red Access Cards” in Call of Duty: Warzone?
Since the release of Update 1.20 for the Battle Royale shooter Call of Duty: Warzone, players have found themselves in the game world enigmatic red access cards. What they are used for, however, is completely open.
Players now suspect that the Red Access Cards are the Open the doors of the no less mysterious Verdansk bunkers could. How should that work? The community is now puzzling about this. And there is even an even crazier explanation for the mysterious cards that we present to you in this article.
First you can take a closer look at the red key cards in the following video. They showed up in one of the valuable orange boxes, but see for yourself:
What could be behind the access cards?
We have two attempts to explain the red key cards found. Note that both are only possible variants that we think are realistic. However, we currently do not know the actual purpose of the cards, as the developers have so far remained silent about this.
1. A bunker with a loot
There are tightly closed bunkers all over the Warzone game world. In the official map guide, these places are classified as “classified”. The red access cards could have something to do with it.
However, there is a problem: There is no card reader on the doors of the bunkers, but a number field. You can enter a code on this keypad, but do not insert a key card. Under certain circumstances, the red key cards are only part of the puzzle to open the bunkers and access the still secret content.
2. Atomic bomb – everyone to the bunker!
The second explanation is a bit more exotic, but is also much more explosive! As a user speculates on Reddit, the red key card in CoD: Warzone could serve to launch an atomic bomb anywhere on the map. For example, the military base at Arklov Peak would be possible.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare already has the atomic bomb feature in another form, so it can also be used in Warzone.
The bunkers, on the other hand, could then be used by all other players serve as a rescue center, which is why a total of 12 of these protective buildings are spread across the game world. So everyone would have to try to reach the nearest bunker and an exciting race would begin.
A look into the bunker
On Reddit, some players note that one has already succeeded glitching behind the door and nothing interesting was found there. However, this is not surprising.
Infinity Ward could easily implement key story content into the game even if they want them to be found
What is the secretiveness?
In Call of Duty: Warzone, Infinity Ward apparently not only copied the Free2Play model from the successful BR shooter Fortnite, but possibly also wants the so-called “Environmental storytelling” establish.
So here the game world tells a story. This form of narrative is particularly suitable for Battle Royales because the gameplay actually doesn’t need a story. Epic’s BR shooter sometimes had very creative approaches, like a meteor that announced itself for weeks in the sky of the Fortnite game world.
In the case of Call of Duty: Warzone, Activision and Infinity Ward had already indicated that they wanted to use this type of storytelling. So the bunkers may just be the beginning, and the red key cards are the next piece of the puzzle.
We will keep you definitely up-to-dateas soon as there is official information or more clarity about the riddle of the bunkers and the red key cards from CoD: Warzone.
