What do you get for your money in Valorant? Introduced in-game shop

You can buy cosmetic items in the Valorant shop.

Developer Riot introduced the in-game shop for Valorant. Many features only appear with the final version of the tactical shooter, for which an exact release date has still not been announced. However, it is already clear that Valorant will basically be playable free of charge.

As in the case of League of Legends, Riot earns money through the in-game shop. A blog post by Revenue Lead Joe Lee already reveals what to expect in it. We have summarized the most important information for you.

This is in the Valorant shop

In the shop you pay with the so-called Valorant points, short VP. You only get this in exchange for real money. You can buy them in the client. The more VP you buy at once, the more discount you are granted. An example:

• You get 500 VP for 5.49 euros
• 5,500 VP are available for 54 euros
• 10,500 VP cost 100 euros

Weapon and melee skins

Skins shouldn't be missing in any in-game shop and Valorant also has them to offer. You can buy them to customize your equipment.

There should be a lot of different cosmetic content, but it will have no impact on the gameplay.

Skins can change not only the look, but also the sound or animation, but Lee emphasizes that it does no advantages or disadvantages for the owner should result in:

"If any skin breaks this basic rule, then you can be sure that it was an accident and we will take care of it."

To ensure this, other players can only see changes to the model of your equipment. You will only see all other effects yourself. So your skins above all have an impact on your individual gaming experience.

A few examples of the weapon skins from the Valorant Shop.

You can only unlock and level up some weapon skins with Radianit points. You should get this currency primarily via the announced fight pass, but you can also buy it in the shop.

By the way, there are already four knife skins that you can buy in Valorant. The most expensive Reaver knife costs the equivalent of just over 30 euros. Some players find this price for a purely cosmetic item quite overpriced, as forum discussions show.

There are agents by contract

You have two contract slots with which you can collect experience points gained in the game. They will be credited equally for both contracts. This is how Riot wants to prevent you from having to choose between different rewards.

• The first place is the Introductory contractthat every new player gets and that consists of 10 levels. You can unlock two agents for the successful completion. You can then assign agent contracts to the free space.
• The Agent contracts also consist of 10 levels, but you can buy a variant in which you only have to unlock levels 6-10. So it is not possible to buy the agent directly, but at least the effort can be reduced with money.
• The second place is always the Battle passthat you level up with all the games and missions.
• There will be a free and a paid version of the combat pass. However, all changes should also have no influence on the gameplay.
