TV talks about the “cast” of a series and you’ve never heard the expression? We tell you what it means and how you use it yourself.
That means “Cast”: cast of a film/a TV series
In film jargon, the “cast” refers to all actors who have participated in a film or series. In a series or sitcom, the actors’ names are usually introduced in an intro. There are also films that have an intro that tells you the names of the main actors. The rest of the cast, the supporting and small actors, are usually only listed in the credits.
This is how “Cast” is used
If you want to talk about the cast of a film or a series, you can also use the English term cast. This is used with the article “der”. The cast describes everyone involved in front of the camera. The people behind the camera are referred to as the crew, who are responsible for technology, costumes and make-up, or the production team, which includes the showrunner.
