The expression “Dateview” is a portmanteau and is made up of the English terms “Date” and “Interview”. This is used to describe a date that feels more like an interview for a job than a casual meeting. “Dateview” has negative connotations as it is seen as an unsuccessful date.
While it’s normal to ask a few questions to get to know someone, too many can feel almost rude. Of course, it’s perfectly normal to be curious about the potential crush. When things are going well, it can feel like a natural progression to get into more detail. However, in a “dateview” situation, it doesn’t feel natural to the person being asked.
