On December 12th, Geoff Keighley’s Games Awards will once again honor this year’s best games, with a small but significant rule change. The Daily, let’s go!
Originated from the American television channel Spike’s Video Game Awards, Since 2014, the Game Awards have become the video game industry’s premier awards ceremony.
Created and presented by Geoff Keighley, the Game Awards is now an unmissable event for gamers, who can use the ceremony to discover new announcements for upcoming video game releases. Recently, the organization announced that DLC, remakes, remasters, expansion packs and seasons are allowed for all categories
meaning that a DLC or even the final season of a gaming service could technically win the Best Game of the Year trophy (the famous GOTY) and GaaS would be eligible practically until its end. Although the announcement wasn’t particularly well received, some players claimed it was just a way to reward more Elden Ring
and its DLC Shadow of the Earth Tree, We’ll have to wait until next month to see if this change really impacts rewards. The Daily is over!
