The Spectrum Retreat is a mysterious puzzle gamethat relies on an innovative way of storytelling. You control a faceless character in the first person perspective who is located in the futuristic hotel »The Penrose«. Who you are, why you have been in this hotel for ages, why you seem to like this place – all questions to which you initially have no answer.
By solving puzzles you progress, explore new rooms and discover more and more clues that are related to your person. So slowly but surely you will get a clearer picture of the situation. And some of the insights you gain are more of a source of discomfort than amusement. So there’s also in The Spectrum Retreat Horror besides all the mysteries.
Visually, The Spectrum Retreat is characterized by one Art Deco style with futuristic bonds which is characterized by elegant shapes, valuable materials and contrasting color patterns. The trailer shows what that looks like:
