You received a message on WhatsApp with a link to sadlye.com and you’re wondering if it’s safe to open it? We’ll tell you.
Have you recently received a message from a contact on WhatsApp with the following content: “Have you seen this??? Name send you a surprise message Open this”? Attached to this is a link to a website called sadley.com.
At first glance, this looks like a typical phishing message. Fake sweepstakes are often distributed with similar reports on WhatsApp – most recently by Milka and Obi. But this case is different.
Greeting card instead of virus
Behind sadlye.com is a greeting card page where you can create personal greetings and then send them to selected contacts via WhatsApp. They can then use the link to view your greeting card. Malware or similar will not be installed on your device. According to our assessments, you can click on the link without hesitation.
Nevertheless, the presentation of the link is more likely to result in many not clicking on it. If you want to avoid this, we will tell you in further texts how to create your pictures or videos for personal New Year’s greetings via WhatsApp. Or you simply share one of these New Year’s sayings or New Year’s GIFs via WhatsApp.
